In a non-descript warehouse district office in 1971, Jim Copeland and Dennis Buhl formed a partnership. 50 years later, the spirit of their vision lives on in the partnerships Copeland Buhl builds with our clients every day.

After several years in that less than desirable office, Copeland Buhl made the move west to the Lake Minnetonka area. Being located in a strip mall near a bait shop, their new offices were nothing to brag about, but from that location they began to build their business by focusing on their client’s tax and accounting needs. Several years later the growing firm moved into the now-demolished Anchor Bank building. Eventually, Copeland Buhl relocated to “the building on stilts” on Wayzata Boulevard. That handsome structure served as our home from 1984 to 2023.  Our new location, in the Atria Corporate Center in Plymouth, is still conveniently located in the western suburbs and we would love to show you around!

Rooted in our history is our emphasis on long-term, meaningful relationships with our clients. These relationships not only enable a deep understanding of our clients’ business, they foster continuity, trust and personal service with a focus on long-term success. Building lasting partnerships with our clients was, and will continue to be, our priority for the next 50 years.
