Hennepin County Small Business Relief Program

In order to provide support to businesses impacted by COVID-19, Hennepin County implemented the Small Business Relief Program which was “designed to help small local businesses meet immediate financial needs.” This program provides emergency forgivable loans up to $7,500 to pay for critical operating expenses, such as:
- Utilities
- Rent/Mortgage payments
- Payments to suppliers
- Other necessary expenses
Eligibility requirements include:
- For-profit businesses
- Locally owned and operated
- Have a physical establishment in Hennepin County
- Have 1-20 employees
- Have under $1million in annual revenue
- Have been financially impacted by COVID-19
Applications are due by noon on May 8, 2020. If applications exceed the funding available, the fund administrator will select loan recipients using a lottery system.
