A dashboard is a visual display of the most important information needed to achieve one or more objectives which fits entirely on a single computer screen so it can be monitored at a glance.
Dashboard reports provide managers with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and high level data of their business in order to help them make quick decisions and keep their finger on the pulse of the business.
Beginning with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 R2, Microsoft has pre-built Excel Report Dashboards for Financial, Sales, Purchasing and Inventory. These dashboards allow you to see key information at a glance and allow you to drill into detail to get more information. Here are examples of some of the information you can see in these dashboards:
- top customers
- top salespeople
- sale by territory
- what items were sold
- aging and open AR
- total items that are below your order point
- POs that are late
- items have been received but not invoiced
- outstanding POs with account and total (out of date or past due)
- vendor information
- Top items returned
- Top items sold
- cost of goods sold based on a set up in GP
- information about specific transactions
