Steve Arendt, CPA

Partner

Steve has been with Copeland Buhl since 1981 as a Certified Public Accountant. He specializes in Timberline accounting software and network needs, preparation of financial statements, management consulting and tax planning/preparation for privately held Minneapolis businesses and construction contractors.

Sean Hauenstein, CPA

Partner

Sean joined Copeland Buhl after receiving his BBA degree with an emphasis in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1997. As a Certified Public Accountant Sean’s specialties include preparation of financial statements, tax planning and preparation for corporations, partnerships, trusts and individuals as well as management consulting.

Sean lives in Savage with his wife and two daughters and is a member of the board of directors of the Savage Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys playing soccer and golf.

Nate Lilleodden, CPA

Managing Partner

Nate has been with Copeland Buhl since 1995 as a Certified Public Accountant. His specialties include preparation of financial statements, tax planning, consulting and tax return preparation for privately held Minneapolis businesses.

Garry McCreary, CPA

Partner, Chair of the Board

Garry began working with Copeland Buhl in 1982 after he received two degrees – one in accounting and the other in business administration. Garry’s Certified Public Accountant specialties include tax planning and preparation, tax research and assistance with tax audits.

Mark Schneibel, CPA, MBT

Partner

Mark joined Copeland Buhl in 1980 and is one of the firm’s most senior tax reviewers and Certified Public Accountants. He specializes in tax research and audits.

Mark is a board member and treasurer of the Minnesota Film and TV Board and, each November, he and his wife travel to Kauai, Hawaii to celebrate their anniversary.

Aaron Thomas, CPA, CITP, CISA, CISM

Partner

Aaron began at Copeland Buhl in 2000 as a staff Certified Public Accountant, but has honed his focus to include accounting systems, server, networking and IT security installation and management. He is a Certified Information Security Manager, oversees the firm’s internal information systems and manages the IT consulting practice. He is a member of the AICPA and ISACA.

Jeremy Thompson, CPA, MBT

Partner

Jeremy received his accounting degree in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and went on to earn a master’s degree in taxation from the University of Denver. As a Certified Public Accountant, Jeremy specializes in tax planning and preparation, tax research and tax audits.

Sue Thompson, CPA

Partner

Sue has been a Certified Public Accountant with Copeland Buhl since 1985. She works with closely-held businesses and nonprofit entities and is the Accounting and Assurance Department Head. Sue’s specialties include:
